HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

Thwaites Ltd recognise that our operation must be carried out in a way which, as far as is reasonably practicable, protects the health, safety and welfare of those persons affected by our activities.

Thwaites Ltd, want to prevent all injuries and cases of work-related ill health, both physically and mentally, by managing risks within our workplace through robust Health & Safety processes.

Our health and safety policy is to:

• Manage health and safety risks within the workplace, including offsite working.
• Provide adequate and sufficient supervision, training, and instruction to all Employees.
• Supply suitable and safe plant and equipment, including personal protective equipment.
• Implement, maintain and continuously improve safe systems of work.
• Maintain a safe working environment, including provision of welfare facilities.
• Control and manage the competence and activities of our suppliers, contractors, and other third parties.

This will be supported by:

• Health & Safety being on the agenda of all Board and Management meetings.
• Health & Safety being included on all monthly and quarterly business reports.
• Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Adequate resourcing, both human and equipment, to ensure adherence of policy and procedures.
• Adequate and sufficient risk assessment for activities and the working environment, reviewed at regular intervals.
• Promotion of a positive Health & Safety culture led from the top down.
• Mandatory reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses.
• A clear and effective organisational structure.
• A robust occupational health monitoring program.
• Competent persons employed to undertake and advise on matters of Health & Safety.
• Safety representatives elected to consult and engage the workforce on Health & Safety matters.
• Quarterly meetings of the Health & Safety Committee.

The Board of Directors accept accountability for the overall Health & Safety of Thwaites Ltd, however, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Thwaites Ltd, will acknowledge and adhere to their responsibilities governed under both Thwaites Ltd’s Health & Safety policy and their legal obligations by:

• Taking reasonable care of their own health and safety and of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
• Co-operating with the application of the Health & Safety procedures, especially where procedures align with statutory provisions.
• Operating in accordance with risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Reporting any Health and Safety concerns to supervision to allow for investigation and, where appropriate, rectification in a timely manner.
• Actively engaging with their direct supervision and safety representatives over matters of Health & Safety.
