We mentioned that whilst heritage is in our DNA, we are always immensely proud to look back yet always excited to look forward.
In this second piece we look forward and share with the rental sector. more about how the Thwaites factory continually innovates and improves.
Investment in Thwaites People, Plant & Product.
With significant investment in capital expenditure, the factory has most recently installed the latest and most efficient laser cutting machines, automated welding machines and energy saving ovens where the paint process is completed. All to further improve productivity, enhance quality and reduce emissions.
The factory will, in Q4, open a 4,300 sqm extension, with new and improved roadways and concrete standing areas, the project is part of our continuing investment for future.

This record level of investment will deliver an increase in production of, up to 15%. Ensuring Thwaites match the demand and needs of hirers across the UK & Europe.
For the Thwaites team, the site will be safer, more sustainable and with a new conservation area, become an even better place to work.
The Thwaites management team only drive electric vehicles. The new factory investment delivers a total of 36 EV charging points for employees and visitors, improving the local charging infrastructure and capability.
The new factory has also been fitted with 1,483 roof solar panels, enough capacity to reduce the cost and reliance of fossil fuels, the panels are also capable of delivering up to 33% of the sites future power needs.
Sustainability and the Rental Model
Thwaites has long understood and appreciated the value of its products in the rental market from both a balance sheet and sustainability perspective.
Sustainability fundamentally underpins the rental model, built to last, Thwaites dumpers are manufactured to deliver value to hirers by maximising uptime, increasing utilisation and satisfying customers. In addition to providing market leading residuals, enabling reinvestment and renewal in the industry.
Shift Towards Rental for the Good of the Environment
The construction equipment rental business is traditionally resource-intensive and often environmentally challenging. Any shift towards renting instead of owning heavy machinery offers many environmental, economic, and operational benefits. Uniquely positioning rental as a significant model for sustainability.
Thwaites is committed to promoting the most efficient use of its equipment, lowering overall emissions, and reducing waste. The rental sector serves as a critical component in building a more sustainable future for the construction sector and the environment.
