Serious About Safety…Colmer Plant Hire Chooses Thwaites ROPS+.

Southeast based, Colmer Plant Hire have become one of the first UK hirers to take the new Thwaites Ltd 6-tonne swivel ROPS+ dumper into their fleet.

This latest dumper deal was completed by Construction Sales Manager Nigel Booley of authorised distributor Ernest Doe & Sons Ltd, with many thanks to Michael Colmer for the order.

Colmer Plant Hire, who have a reputation for listening and delivering value to their customers, offer the ROPS+ Thwaites dumpers alongside the fully cabbed versions. All to give customers who prefer an open cab a choice, secure in the knowledge that both will offer added protection to keep their clients operators safe.

Thwaites Ltd Distributor Manager Paul Rodwell explained… “ROPS+ is an extension of the existing Roll Over Protection System, (ROPS) and is made from the same high tensile steel. The wrap around design places the operator in the best possible position to minimise risk, should a machine roll over occur.

Paul continued… “The overhead latch bar is pulled over and locked into position in front of the operator. The seat must be sat on and the seat belt must be worn, with both having safety sensors that prevent any workarounds.

The machine will start, but not drive, until the ‘Triple Lock’ below is employed.

1) Operator sat on seat.

2) Operators seat belt fastened across the waist.

3) Operator deploys the overhead bar.
